Why It Hurts

It hurts because I love you
So badly I can't explain
The reasons why I cry all night
And why my heart's in pain

It hurts because you're lying
And think that I don't know
But that's okay, I'm taking it
I don't want to see you go

It hurts because I'm foolish
In letting myself be used
Each night my heart cries harder
And my soul is more abused

It hurts because through all of this
I want you, I don't care
I need you and without you
Life just wouldn't be fair

It hurts because you are the world
And the light in my poor soul
For as long as you stay here with me
Nothing else matters at all
