She just kept dreaming

This is a story about a little girl
who was treated very wrong
her mommy made her feel worthless
and her daddy's beatings were oh so long
after they were done
and the torture session was over
she ran up to her room
and wished her life was over
she picked up the knife
but she as to late
her parents walked in
they were back from their date
they took the knife
and cut her deep
they laughed at her
as she fell to an eternal sleep
as she fell down
she begged for them to stop
but they just wouldn't go
they just wouldn't stop
she held on for a little longer
just to feel her heart break
but she thought this made her stronger
the next day came
her daddy's beatings were far worse
her Mommy's insults were so horrible
she felt she was living life's curse
the neighbors herd
but they just looked the other way
she felt safe at school
but summer took that away
it was so bad for her
she just wanted to die
she was scared to sleep at night
she just sat on her bed and cried
her daddy came home drunk
and beat her half to death
her mommy just laughed
as she took her final breath
she held on for so long
her dreams gave her the power
her daddy's hands hurt her
and her Mommy's words were sour
and as this little girl died
and took her final breath
her parents final realized
they caused her death
never before had she seen
tears in her Mommy's eyes
and her daddy picked her up
as her soul floated toured the sky
they took her to the E.R.
though she was already gone
they didn't know they hurt her so bad
and cut her life short instead of long
the girl sat there crying every night
everyday she heard the screaming
but she kept holding on until she died
she just kept dreaming
