The Break in the Song

by Jacob Perry   Jul 5, 2006

As I sift through the day
And shuffle through the things I've thought
There's one upon which it lingers
One upon which I'm caught

I pass the time with this or that
I sit and think of how I've sat
Time drags on, a held back mass
While my heart goes pitter-pat

'It's gone', I think and sigh
But then I realize that I'm wrong
This verse of nothing
Is just part of the song

And so I sit and think again
And let the finite song play on
But who knows i could be wrong
But I'll never know until its gone.

Pretty good. Nice use of words. I found this poem a little confusing, maybe you could relate it to the title more. It's stanza seems to refer to something different. You forgot the "I" in "infinite" ^-^ Keep it up
