You were my light.
You were everything to me.
You were all i thought about.
You were there when things got bad.
You knew how to comfort me.

"You were" are the key words.

Just like "You were" who I loved.
And, "You were" the one who made my heart skip a beat whenever I heard your name.
Then you found her.
And gave me up.

    I liked the way you threw in the line

    It really helped to turn the poem around for the ending. Good job.

    I know how that feels. That was such a great poem. Short, but still great. The flow was really good too. It was also very relatable.
