Her heart aches because it's tired
it's been on overtime for too long
& now it needs a break
there's been too many disappointments
& now it just aches
she can't remember
when it actually felt whole
maybe because it's been missing a piece
that can't be replaced
she always knew something was missing
every time she looked in the mirror
she could see it in her face
she needs to be given love
the love she cant give herself
her heart is running on empty
like it's not even there
& time can only tell
if it can ever be repaired.
