When His Time Comes to Leave

by amber   Aug 3, 2006

I sat there beside him
His eyes were slightly closed
My grandma pampered him
Gently whiping his nose

So many people were in the room
But Grandpa wasn't alone
Behind his closed eyes i knew he was there
Relaxing in his home

I rubbed his arm to let him know
I had come to see
He shook his head in acknowlegement
I knew he knew it was me

I closed my eyes
And quietly said a prayer
"Lord please watch over him,
Let me know your there."

I closed the prayer
Hopeing Jesus heard
Hearing my silent plea
Existing of many words

That night i went home
And knelt on my knee
"Lord if your there,
Please come unto me

My grandpa is sick
He's in need of your love
Not the love given here
But the love from above

Take his hand and lead him home
Where his worlds is forver safe
Show him the love from here he knew
In your everlasting embrace

Let him know he was loved
And will be when he leaves
Let him know i send my love
He'll know it's from me

My grandpa is still young at heart
But he was grown a little older
So place to angels by his side
Have a hand on each shoulder

Give him the wings he's earned
Show him the love he needs
That way it's easier for me to let him go
When his time comes to leave"
Amen
