So Far Yet So Close

by Lu   Aug 12, 2006

Can you hear my thoughts
whispering in your mind
though many miles apart
our hearts remain entwined

I see your face in the sunshine
feel your tears like falling rain
smile for your happiness
cry when you feel pain

Happy memories of childhood
sneaking into your bed late at night
waking up my big sis
when my dreams caused me fright

Dancing to disco music
when Mom & Dad would go out
jumping around the living room
we'd sing, dance and shout

Time has past so quickly
a shooting star in the night
memories I will cherish forever
holding them with all my might

Times change like passing seasons
dreams come true, some fall apart
yet my love for you will never change
you will be forever in my heart.......

To my loving sister, my best friend

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA....XXXXX
Love you always & forever

Luanne, This was really a good Write. The flow was perfection. The imagery without fault. It's so nice to look back on memories and relate them with such fondness. I envy that relationship with your sister. You can tell by the heart put into this piece that you and your sister share a very special bond. Hold onto that with every thing you have.

Oooh this made me miss my sisters so much and so funny too Luanne because I just posted a kind of similar poem about my baby brothers birthday! I really loved this piece, it coveys a strong kinship and is a beautiful dedication to your sister and the special times you once, and continue to share...
