Lost to War

by Megan   Aug 14, 2006

The look on your face
As your life faded
Away will never leave
Your men's minds alone.
They will forever see
Your eyes staring
Straight into theirs,
Begging them to save
You from despairer,
Though your wound
Is unable to be mended.
Your lost to war...

You slowly open your
Blood covered eye lids,
Not knowing where
You now lay, you
Scream out in pain.
You never heard it
Coming toward your
Bunker, and when it
Hit, you were knocked
Unconscious and didn't
Know what hit you.
Your lost to war...

They came in darkness,
Took you from camp
While you slept, and
Tortured you day
After day wanting
Answers you couldn't
Even begin to answer
Your men came to
Save you days later,
To find you laying
In your own blood.
You were lost to war...

Bullets flying past
You, barley missing you.
You become scared as
Your comrades start
To fall by you,
The ground soaked
With their blood.
The enemy is getting
Closer, no sign of your
Commander or order,
You stand to give orders.
Your lost to war...

In the hospital men
Lay all over the floor,
Crying out in pain.
Blood is carried in
Bowls to the basement
And thrown down the
Steps, blood reaching
Up to the 10th step.
Limbs thrown out the
Window, in a pile 5 feet
High around the hospital.
Your lost to war...
