Opera

by Megan   Aug 14, 2006

Unable to see
Much further that
An inch in front
Of him, he rode
Off into the
Night to find
The enemy, so his
Men would know
Where to attack.

He turned back
Before he saw
Them, he heard
Them digging and
Cutting down trees,
They were making
Their fortifications.
Attach couldn't
Wait a second longer.

Waiting in the
Darkness had made
His men jumpy
And anxious, they
Shot at every little
Thing, and the lost
Enemy cavalry
Were upon them,
They were tariffed.

When they heard
His horse and the
Horses of the 8
Other men, they
Panicked and were
Ordered to blast
The enemy to h.e.l.l
They did as ordered
And five shots rang out...

They then realized
Who they fired upon
And ceased fire,
But it as to late...
He took 3 of the
5 bullets and
Was now dying
In the clearing
A 100 yards away.

They moved him to
Safety and doctors
Tended he wounds,
While his men went
Through 3 other
Commanders before they
Got a chance to
Fight the enemy
With little hope.

The next day
They fought hard
While he was sent
To a safer hospital.
The dense woods
Made it hard to
Move forward or
Even see, their
Blood was flowing fast.

Their muskets sparked
With every shot they
Fired, and fire began
To spread through
The woods they stood
In. Screaming, running
Every which way they
Tried to get to
Safety, and couldn't find it.

The wounded tried
To crawl away, but
Couldn't move, they
Extended their bloody
Arms, as if to block
The fire, and screamed
As they burned.
Unable to be saved,
They died in horror.

The screams, sizzling
Of muskets, bangs
Of guns, booms of
Cannons, creaking of
Burring trees, cursing,
And the mumbles of
Solder's prays mixed
Together to make
The Opera of H.e.l.l

By the time the
Enemy left, thousands
Lay dead, they won
The battle but
Lost so much more.
Days later they
Would loose their
Best leader, and
All would be lost

It is good, but I really quite dislike all of the battles fought for america and all that. I mean, look at what we have fought for : media coverage running our lives, suicide genocide, powered eggs?! I mean, wtf has the world come to? It's really quite pathetic. But, of course, that's just my opinion and it's just as flawed as anyone elses...so...i guess this whole thing was pretty much pointless. Oh, well, its tuesday and you know what that means...UFO's.RUNNNN!!! jk
