Hold Her Down

by LovelyDivine   Aug 14, 2006

Her mom was an alcoholic
Her dad was barely around.
Looking all around her,
No happiness to be found.
There was yelling every night.
The tears in her eyes,
Weren't a pleasant sight.

Crying in her bed,
Three words never said.
Never hearing,"I love you."
Never relpying,"I love you too."
But this girl's grown up now.
She'll make it someway, somehow.
No one will hold her down.

*This was kinda written about my past life when I lived with my mother. Don't get me wrong, I love her and all, but I went through a lot living with her...

This poem is true and you described emotions on a good way. I like it but it could be even more better.

I won`t go into detail but I`ve been where you were. The scars are not only internal but external. But life does go on and we are all the better for surviving it.
    Take Care,
