Impact at the bus stop

by Tiny Reader   Aug 21, 2006

The eccentric old lady with pink hair,
stubbing out her cigarette
in a puddle on top of the green
dog litter bin.
The young girl whose speech is accented
with that of a bad education-
or lack of commitment.
And an old man mutters to himself
in a foreign language
wearing just what he's wore
everyday at the bus stop
for fourteen years.
And no one will remember me
as I step on to the bus.
For I don't make an impact.

Deep poem, I must say. Honestly, I've never even thought of this before, but it must be true. Yet, it's hard not to think of Sarah White and think of the impact she's made on this site. i lvoe your poetry.

    Keep it up!

This was really good! I love the humility you show...and it's kinda ironic cause I'm sure the people you were writing about were sure they didn't make any impression either.
