Wearing A Mask

by xoxShorteexox   Aug 30, 2006

Putting on my stage make-up,
to start the day.
No one to impress,
but only myself to blame.
Twisted up inside,
hoping to play my cards right.
I'm just as fake as Barbie,
and just as lost as my heart.
With eyes covered in black eyeliner,
and green eyes carrying my pain.
I'll fake that smile just right,
and you're believe I'm fine, Babe.
You watch me where this mask,
but don't know the other side of me.
I'll watch you think I'm really happy,
when you haven't seen the dying side of me.
I'll pretend to be something I'm not,
but I faking it is my best game.
I don't need to put hard to get,
when this game is so much easier.
I'll wear my mask,
and make you believe there's nothing wrong.
I'm not really that distant,
but how would you know?
All you know is this show and mask,
but it's not truly who I am.
