Like a game of Russian Roulette

by Krissey   Sep 11, 2006

A young boy was only eight years old
When he started to lose his family
Too many things got out of control
Everyone forgot about little Joey

The mom was in and out of the w h o r e house
The dad was constantly smoking rock
Joey was bullied in school
12 year old Connie is pregnant from the boy on block

One day while Joey was walking home from school
He saw something shiny hiding in the garbage can
He went over to investigate and picked up a gun
That's when Joey started thinking up his plan

When mom and dad finally call it a night
When Connie talked to her man on the phone
He'd grab the gun and place it to his head
He defiantly chooses to die alone

But Joey's plan went wrong on day
When he was gone to school
Dear old dad snuck into his bedroom
And saw the gun sitting on a stool

But when he pulled the trigger to his head
Nothing released but pure air
He quickly scampered out of the room
When he heard his wife creeping up the stairs

She knew her husband was down there
He was probably up to something bad
She decided to go and look for herself
And saw the exact same thing her husband had

She was so sick of this life she was living
So she placed the gun to her heart
Nothing released but pure air
Positively said "maybe it's not my time to part"

When Connie woke up from her nap
She waltzed into Joey's room
The shiny gun caught her eyes
She saw it as a way out of her doom

"I just wanted a night of pleasure
Now I have a baby of my own"When she pulled the trigger to her head
The next step was her gravestone

Joey came home to a house of bodies
Years of therapy followed after that
But now he's grown up into a famous writer
He found something he's good at

Joey went a bit personal on his 1st book
The death of his sister and family he'd never forget
On the shelves of every library in the nation
Sat the book "Like a game of Russian Roulette"

Russian Roulette is the deadliest game where no bets are accepted but the player's life... One bullet is put in the drum of a revolver, the rest six chambers remain empty. Then the player of Russian Roulette spins the drum and stops it, puts the gun to his temple and pulls the trigger...if he/she is lucky it wont go off, but they pass the gun down the line until it does..

Wow that was amazing, and really true about the Russian Roulette, my best friend wanted to do it, accpet he wanted to do it alone.. I talked him out of it and everything, and this poem kinda reminds me of the incident it is really well written. Great work.
