Change

by Tim Fleckney   Sep 12, 2006

Lost boys stalk
The strip hunting for
Sacrificial virgins
While blushing brides
Lay cringing
In the corner

Cowboys in hats and boots
Mosey into
Slims Pure Country Bar
Searching for love
Or a fight
Not quite daring to
Admit which they
Want more

Bored housewives
Stoned on Valium
Storm the library on an
Endless quest for
Cheap
Romance novels

Meanwhile down at the
7-11 a priest, a hooker and
A pretty young mother
Pushing a stroller are
Held hostage by a
Satanic band of
Skateboarders

the churches lay empty and
In ruins
As the riotous cower
Under their beds

God left these suburban
Wastelands and
Moved to the
Country

Glad to be able to be reading your poetry once again Tim!
This write was impressive at it details different points of views that are sometimes minimized by society insted of being recognized as trouble and an indication of where society as a whole is going...
