Dreams

Dreams

Dreaming chaotic screams
Children frolic mindlessly
Through fields of war
While dead carousel ponies
Carry lost souls across
The river Styx

I only dream in color
When I'm stoned
A strange thing to say claims
The priest confessing
His sins to me
As if I give a damn

My doctor gave me new pills
Yesterday
They're supposed to turn off
The voices in my head

The voices told me not to take them

In my mind all is innocence and roses
Children dream sweet dreams
And parents are always home

Lovers stay true and divorce lawyers
Go bankrupt

Last night I dreamed of
Black horses riding
Through white clouds
Can't remember what if
Anything I took

The priest explains the
Sin of lust while
Choirboys scream in the
Background

Creative yet again... This a very illusive piece. You must write about your dreams more often, the imagery is superb. I particularly liked this stanza:

    "I only dream in color
    When I'm stoned
A strange thing to say claims
    The priest confessing
    His sins to me
As if I give a damn"

I love the abstract feeling of this poem, all the while conveying a sense of reality. Dream-like and haunting with amazing images. This is a wonderful write!

Thank-you for your comments ^_^ Sometimes I prefer freeverse and not rhyming, it depends on the mood I'm in lol, you are a talented writer of this style. I love reading your poems to look at your technique as well as enchanting poetry.
