She Can't Find A Cure

by Jenni Marie   Sep 19, 2006

She stands in front of the mirror
Her body is oh so thin
Tears pour down her face
this battle she knows she can't win.

Every day
each calorie she counts
and if so much as a pound is gained
her anxiety mounts.

She wonders how many hours is spent exercising
is it one, two or three?
She knows what she does is damaging
but she doesn't know any other way to be.

As each day passes
her weight plummets more
She knows she should stop
But she can't find a cure.

And as she stares in the mirror
all she can see is layers and layers of fat
A distorted reflection is what she sees
as she thinks to herself disgustedly I am THAT?'

Her body is malnourished and in need
her face is wet as she starts to cry
If she doesn't get help soon
She is surely going to die.

*not one of my best*

It's well written, reads nicely :)
    well done
maybe a comma between disgustedly and I am that ?would make a good pause to make "I am that" sound stronger i think
    keep it up :))
