Mislead Butterflies

I thought I loved him,
but the truth came to me.
Every time I see you,
my heart beat's unsteady.

When I'm with him.
I'm happy, my heart's content,
but then you walk by,
suddenly I'm heart bent.

I question in my mind,
this feeling I've felt before,
for this man I'm hand in hand with,
but you found an open door.

My heart's the rope,
in a tug-of-war game,
I think I love you...
but is that a mistake?

Do I really love you?
Or are these butterflies mislead?
My stomach all tied up in knots,
from the little "hi" you said.

Your smile melts my heart away,
your laugh makes me go wild.
I never knew love could be like this,
like Christmas to a child.

I want to know the truth,
I want to see the light.
If these butterflies really are mislead,
then these feelings just aren't right.
