Superman

by John Jenkins   Sep 25, 2006

If I lost you my friend,
It would be my end,
A steady decline,
I would never be fine.

I adore your everyway,
And everything you say,
I've loved you all along,
In my eyes you can do no wrong.

I love you immensely,
And so intensely,
If you were gone,
I couldn't go on.

To save your life,
I would take a knife,
No one would take you away from me,
My sweetheart you will always be.

Without you I feel empty,
Your beautiful smile tempts me,
To stay up all night,
You are my light.

You are my other half,
If you were gone I would never laugh,
Promise me you will never leave,
Together forever is what I would like to believe.

You make my world go round,
And keep my feet on steady ground,
Without you I'd fall into a dark abyss,
And you I would forever miss.

My only greed,
Is to fulfill your every need,
Whatever you would like,
It would be my delight.

My purpose in life,
Is to protect you from strife,
It's my sole goal,
It makes me feel whole.

I will look after you,
You have no clue,
How much I care,
I will always be there.

I'll stand outside in the rain,
Just to ease your pain,
Your feelings are mine,
If you are hurt inside, I will never be fine.

So trust me, take my hand,
And if you can,
Let me be your Superman.
