The Sun Could Set in the East

by x.Athame.x   Oct 2, 2006

I sit here, head bowed in decision
You pass me by with a quick glance
I raise my head to watch you pass
Wishing I could say whats on my mind
But it seems I never find the courage, no,
I watch as the sunshine lights up your face
You seem to almost sense my gentle gaze
You quickly glance back in my direction
And for a moment so brief, you hold my eyes
Do you see the longing in my eyes, hun?
Do you feel the biting ache in my heart?
Your soft smile at me, like a warm caress
I tear my lust filled eyes from you
I turn my attention to the sunset
All the breathtaking hues of color
Our love could be that vibrant, yes,
As I glance at you again, and see your face
Painted in the colorful red, golden, light
I understand what I have been trying to comprehend
That we may never be, but then again...
The sun could set in the east.
