Outcast

by Grace   Oct 3, 2006

People stare at me through an ignorant eye,
Thinking I only cause trouble and like to get high.
All the yells and uncertain looks I get,
I can't understand why they think I'm a threat.
I'm not going to hurt you I promise I swear,
They're just earring just color in my hair.
You look at my clothes and try to judge me,
Why are you scared just because I'm not who you need me to be?
There's nothing wrong with me I'm just like you,
I just like to be me and do what I do.
So why don't you stop trying to cast me out,
Maybe try to get to know me and see what I'm all about.

**I get the eyes from everyone in the mall, sometimes I even get the hollers and harsh words of kids my own age. Mom says they're jealous of my beauty...I just think they're ignorant and in some cases...ash-holes :-)**

I see that you've put passion into this poem from everyday life experience. That's good, it means your poetry comes from something other than a need for attention... sadly that's what a lot of it is on this site. Nice rythm and rhyme and i hope to see more like this in the future.
