Shooting Star

by x.Athame.x   Oct 3, 2006

I sit here quietly,
Just thinking of you,
And the times we've shared,
Its pointless, I know,
You just can't understand,
The fire burning within my heart,
The aching in my soul,
The way I long for you,
As the rose longs for the sun,
In the bitter depths of winter,
The way I need you,
Like the grass needs the rain,
Like the moon needs the stars,
My longing doesn't help, I know,
I stare out at the starry sky,
I think of you and smile,
Your face painted in my inner eye,
My lust filled heart beats to the rhythm,
Of your fun-filled, but gentle laughter,
My blood courses through my veins,
Doing a wild dance in your honor,
My eyes search the midnight sky,
Are you looking at that star?
The one I'm looking at?
Do you feel my presence?
I turn from the window and look across the room,
And I wish, I just wish so much,
That you could understand this,
That you could feel this bite and sting,
The ache and pain of desire,
And the longing for a change,
I look back at the sky,
Oh look...
A shooting star.
