Winter Comes

by x.Athame.x   Oct 3, 2006

Look out the window m'dear,
The trees are on fire,
And the leaves are falling,
A whirlwind of crimson tears,
Catch a leaf in your hand,
And make a wish, whatever you want,
Look to the orchard m'dear,
The apples are falling, in their finery,
Golden, red, green, purple,
All the colors of the delicious fruit,
Falling from the tree in the wind,
The gentle wind blowing them down,
Look at the horses m'dear,
Putting on their winter coats,
Getting ready for the bitter winter ahead,
Their breath beginning to turn to mist,
In the crisp fall air,
They begin to move closer to each other,
Look at the squirrels m'dear,
They are eating all they can lay paws on,
With their puffy fur, only getting thicker,
Running around cheeks full of acorns,
So many out and about in these last days,
The last days of fall, before the winter,
Look at all of nature m'dear,
Fall is leaving, in its gorgeous colors,
And winter is coming with its frosty days.

Very good. The imagery was superb. The flow was great, and the overall write was one that made me antisipate the coming winter. Great job.
