One More

by Tim Fleckney   Oct 9, 2006

One more time and then I'm done, I swear
only God knows how many times I've sworn it in the past

I swear this just as every junkie in the world
Swears just one more time,

I've been so so strong for so long, kept my life sane and well balanced
Been busy with work and family and all the mundane tasks that
Make up a normal life

But

I can hear you calling me late at night
When the house is mine and I'm all
Alone with my thoughts

Feeling old, fragile, inadequate
Feeling lonely

Checking the phone for the
Fifteenth time making sure it works
Just in case someone should call just to
Say they give a damn if I'm alive or not

Oh Tim, this is heartbreaking and so honest...

Been busy with work and family and all the mundane tasks that
    Make up a normal life
    ^^^ Love the honesty here.
And the last stanza is perfect... Great piece!

    I care.

Wonderfully written, at a time that you are obviously troubled. Hang in there.
