Conversion

by Vanessa Lea   Oct 17, 2006

Rub your beliefs in my face
Give me all of your morals
Tell me about society and assign me a place
Then let it be known, I am a disgrace

Open my heart and spread thin my soul
Make me hate who I am
Maybe persistence will take its toll
Maybe you'll convert me, achieve your goal

Break me down sin-by-sin
Try to change my ways
Give me perks, reel me in
Try real hard, maybe you'll win

Go ahead, and make me change
Teach me to be just like you
Use my guilt and use my shame
Open old wounds and cause me pain

Show me that you're better than I am
Build yourself up high
Eventually I may become a fan
Be my shepherd, I'll be your lamb

Turn me over, make me conform
You know you can do it
My soul is worn
But I'm not ready to be reborn
