One Day

by Shelby   Oct 27, 2006

One day you'll grow up
One day you'll move on
One day you will realize
The memories are gone

One day you'll get married
To a girl who's not me
One day you'll have kids
Who I won't get to see

One day you'll think back
To when we were kids
When with our bikes there were training wheels
And with our cups there were lids

You'll remember our friendship
That we've shared all these years
You'll remember those smiles
Those laughs and those tears

I know that your hurting
Your dying inside
You hold it all in
You don't need to hide

But when you grow up
Don't forget about me
You'll have your own life
And you'll finally be free

Wow, beautiful poem. The thing is, I can relate to it so well. That's actually kinda the part that sucks. I'm going through something like that right now, with a boy who has liked me for three years and I completely didn't know what to do... Anyway, keep up the amazing work, and I'll keep reading! No doubts about that!
