The One

The One

You were the one who had my heart
Who held me close, but pushed me away
Looking at me, but not always seeing me
But I still loved you...

I was the one who locked you out
Held my feelings inside afraid they would be ignored
Cried when I thought no one was looking
But then you loved me more...

You were the one who entered my life
Catching my heart, but letting it fall
Giving me lies and false hopes
But still I loved you...

I was the one who left you behind
For you to realize what you did wrong
Looking back at all the memories of us
And you still loved me...

I have come to realize that I also still love you

I really like the contrast of emotions in this poem. Just the reality within this poem is amazing also. It's something that I can relate to. I really liked the lines:
Who held me close, but pushed me away
Looking at me, but not always seeing me
I could really relate to those lines. I think you did an amazing job on this poem. It seems very well thought out. 5/5
