The gentle smell of rain
Falls on my nose
Reminding me of times
I wish for long ago

The soft caress of a mothers touch
The firm grip of a fathers hold
The familiar laughter of friends
They never seemed to grow old

The dreams of becoming a singer
The "aw" when looking up to a "grown up"
The time when we were young
And the memories of yesterday

I come back to the present now
Wishing for those halcyon days
Longing for the memories
And all the old childish ways
