Solitude

Little old woman,
Alone in her cottage,
Home all day,
Just rocking away,
On that old chair.

She sits there all day,
Except for her meals
And other necessities.
She is all alone,
Not knowing what to do,
Just to sit there,
And stroll through her memories,
Like an old film-strip.

The past on which she dwells,
Brings her back memories of youth,
She once contained,
Like a graceful dove,
A courageous lion,
A stubborn mare.

She was never afraid
Of taking risks,
Learning from experiences,
Whether good or bad.

Never was she afraid to soar,
But always afraid to fall behind.
Never dwelling on her past,
Knowing she would find something else to live for.
But now,
All she had...
Disappeared,
Leaving her no option,
But to wander on that path,
Silently alone.

In the second stanza last line. you said

'Like and old film-strip.' i think you ment to put an?

the flow of this is off. in multiple places.

and it got confusing since you didnt break up the stanza's the same.

on a better note. i really liked the title and how its potrayed in this poem.

Not a big rhymer, eh? Thats okay.. I favor rhyming me self, but you impressed me without it. :) I loved this stanza:
The past on which she dwells,
Brings her back memories of youth,
    She once contained,
    Like a graceful dove,
    A courageous lion,
    A stubborn mare.

    Amazing Job babe!

    5/5
