Eyeball this

by Melissa   Nov 21, 2006

Outsiders perceive me
in a series of random ways...

Some immediately despise
my crooked smile
for it's indifference,
but the truth is
I'm not all that unique from anyone
who attempts to string emotions
into the heart
of a tightly woven tongue

Most girls are disgusted
with their own jealousy,
they spit at poetry
as if it were a demon
out to steal her sleazy man
whose been ogling women
for sinful reasons

But the fact is,
those shark toothed men
are my little shell's only admirers........................(from afar)

No one calls,
for their own ridiculous roots
or perhaps insecurity
is starting to breed into something larger

than peace

People often react to physicality
before hello is even said,
strangers point fingers at strangers
and laugh at shyness
in vicious shades of red

I'm afraid if animosity
continues to slash
the soul of humanity,
love will be consumed by hate
and sheepishness
will become earth's only friend

Dang!!! Girl, you got a lot said in this
most realistic written word of how we
    treat each other now days.
The last two stanzas I liked the best
but overall, the write is a work of art.
Good job well done and Write On,
