Fire

by Christopher   Nov 24, 2006

The fire is consuming
Devouring everything in its path
Deception glimmering
In the licking of the flames
No second thought
It charges through
Like an army
Storming the front lines
It doesn’t look behind
Just ashes lay in its wake
Does it have weakness
Or is it all powerful
A flame inside
That can be seen in your eyes
That glimmer that catches peoples attention
No one can pinpoint what it is
Or where it came from
Maybe you do understand
If you could figure out whats going on in your head

What is more powerful then a fire inside.
Surely I do not know
I know there is things that dampen that fire
But does it ever go completely out
Like candles on a cake
To be thrown away
Never to be reignited
I know it is uncontrollable
A wildfire jumping a fire line
That’s how it should be
Since this beast inside
Is like no other creature
Why cant we control it
Maybe because it is not of this world
Belonging to mortal beings
or rather the supernatural world

As you are consumed by the fire
It can be your choice
are you gonna let the flame Inside,
Burn brightly for everyone to see
Actions speaking louder then sound,
Or be gently snuffed out
Due to inactivity of the soul
It belong
