No Picture

by Jen   Nov 30, 2006

You made a big deal,
out of something so little,
you must have a heart of steel,
to do that a love for us so brittle.

You saw there was no picture,
up on the wall,
and flew into overdrive,
and started a brawl.

How can we put a picture there,
when we've never had one,
you think its unfair,
there's no picture of your son.

You fly off the handle,
start to shout and swear,
you make out that we're evil,
and say that we don't care.

The truth is that we do,
we just don't have a photo,
but we can't get through to you,
you just shout even more.

We try to calm you down,
but it just doesn't work,
all you do is frown,
and let that anger lurk.

You start to argue with your sister,
just cos her children are on there,
but listen here mister,
she gives us photos that are spare.

Your arguing over nothing,
you daughter is in the picture,
but yet you keep ignoring,
and keep stirring the mixture.

You have got so angry now,
you think its all a ploy,
because he is ill,
but hes still our little boy.

Hes my cousin too,
and we all love him so,
my words are true,
you then begin to blow.

You hit your own sister,
right in the face,
all of this now over a picture,
your a bloody disgrace.

My dad calls the cops,
and tries to keep it calm,
you've injured my uncle now,
you need to go home.

The police they arrive,
and try to calm it down,
they now need some one to drive,
your lunatic self home.

The only one whose sober is my uncle,
but he won't take you,
and i don't blame him,
your minds lost a screw.

Even as i write this,
the images are still there,
of how you hurt your own sis,
you thought she didn't care.

But guess what she does,
but no longer for you,
you have hurt us,
and we now hate you.

Your behaviour was appauling,
and you don't seem to care,
we got an apology,
and shed a tear.

You hit her in the face,
and then my uncle too,
and when ever i now see you,
i stay out of your view.

It was supposed to be a party,
one that we could enjoy,
but you had to ruin it,
the party you had to destroy.

Guess what... i do not hate you,
i can't say i will,
but you still don't have a clue,
you need to chill.

We do love your son,
you should know that,
but if we had a photo,
it wouldn't have caused that combat.

[this poem was written because basically a fight broke out over something as little as there being no photo in the photo board of my cousin and also because he had something mentally wrong it was thought thats why we hadnt put his pic there purely because of that, truth is we hardly see him and have never been given 1, thought i would make that clear as gemma didnt quite understand it]

Jen How very sad! Family fights are usually over something small. I can feel your pain coming through your words. I am sure this helped to heal your heart.
