From Dear Saint Nicholas

Tears are what are left behind
From Dear Saint Nicholas
Joy and glory are stolen away
Merry, a mere word forgotten and lost
Darkness is bestowed upon the poor girl
Such a shame that she must see
No welcoming as she walks down the staircase
Covered with mistletoe
Dead silence fills the room
An eeriness, A shiver runs down her spine
Quietly, she tip toes, not daring to make a sound
The curtain freely flys along with the cold wind, howling
Broken windows, shattered glass lay across the floor
Breathing heavily, she walks on through the house
In a dream that very night
She heard gunshots fired in the distance
She could not move, she could not breathe
Tears fell down her cheek
If only, If only
She could see how crystal clear they were
Tears are what are left behind
From Dear Saint Nicholas
The poor girl has lost more than a few tears
Shes living out her nightmare
Merry Christmas, dear child

Hey i really like this poem, you have a lot of talent. i like that you are thinking of those who are less fortunate. i always try to help out but i dont really have much to give to them although my parents rn't poor and i guess that means i'm not and i'm certainly not hard done by i just never have any extra cash but i do volenter work and things like that on the december holidays. i appreciate the comment on my poem 'don't make my mistakes'. agfain congrats and thanks for thinking of those less fortunate and taking the time to write this poem every person who care makes a difference and can touch someone else and make them understand and care as well so congrats. and like i said b4 i love the poem.

That is so true Bonnie. Christmas for many is not a merry season at all.

Your little note at the bottom of your poem will hopefully reach out to those more fortunate. And many will come to realize that even a small jesture will mean the world to those less fortunate.
A hug, a smile, a donation, a winter coat and a toy to a child or even an invite for Christmas dinner can brighten up a persons life.

    Take care deary !
