Falling

by Dan Ryan   Jan 2, 2007

I've felt the uncertain feeling
Of myself falling into your eyes
It doesn't seem fair
But there's no use in fighting I fear

Still I wont let myself believe
Somehow I just can't let myself admit defeat
But it's hard knowing
A part of me is ready to concede

If I could pour my soul out
On a page for you to read
You might know how much of my own heart
Has been kept a secret from me

I taste the bitter sweetness
Of remembering our circumstances
And all that I've taken for granted
It's so rare there's ever a second chance

It seems so unjust to think
someone would trade their soul for yours
And you never had the chance to know
Your life is all they've ever adored

I lie awake through the night
Your memory is all my thoughts pursue
As the road takes me farther away
I say my quiet goodbyes to you

okay so I'm all about the eyes, so that line is perfect to me. This seems like a piece of desperation.

^ so true. Been there. Easy to understand and not necessarily a place I want to go back to mentally....at least not with some ppl. But all the same good wording and the honesty of your work is what makes it great.
