This is a lie of your life time

by Al   Jan 19, 2007

When I look up into the sky
I see shimmering lights
I see clouds grow dark outside
I see moon light
Reminding me of your eyes
I see Shadows fly
Like your beauty, that I despise
Leaving me a feeling of emptiness inside
I see my darkness in the night sky
I see stars fly by
I see this all in my mind, with my closed eyes
I see it all the time
And now I see it was a lie
Deception in your disguise
Clouding my mind
Seeing a mirror outside
Showing my life pass by from inside
With the mirror by my side and you climb out with a knife
Stabbing my mind, with one last slice, with one last line
\\\"This is a lie of your life time\\\".

You've put together a very addictive poem here, which carried me along to a very succinct conclusion. Sometimes short poems look hurried and forced, but this had a very real sense of contemplation. Well done.
