Her Best Friend

by amber   Jan 20, 2007

She watched his hand drop hers
Their lives would end right then
She would loose her first true love
Tonight she'd loose her friend

A tear slid from her eyes
As she bid him farewell
All the stories they had made
In her future she would tell

He gave her a final hug
And she wanted to cry
But she had to be strong,
At least she had to try

But she loved him dearly
More so than a friend
A relationship so dear to her
She wouldn't let it end

But he was letting go
And he was moving on
She admits she's jealous
Without him, she's alone

She watched him smile slightly
A lonely farewell grin
To a woman she barely knew
She lost her best friend

He slid the ring on her finger
And her heart began to break
Without him in her life like usual
Her heart would surely ache

She wanted him to be happy
The perfect little life
She had never thought that she
Would NEVER be HIS wife

But those final words he said
The words of "I do."
She thought she would be the one
To whom he said, "i love you."

But to this woman that stole him
Their relationship would end
She would loose the only one
She could call her friend

A man that stole her heart
Over and over again
He was the one she loved
He was her best friend.
