I've been with you all the time

by ben thompson   Jan 22, 2007

Sometimes our special people change, and eventually we all must go.

Their exact destination, I'm not entirely sure that I know.

But in my heart and across the stars is where my special people are.

Father taught me all he ever knew, one day our lesson's were through.

The Lord needed his honest man, to usher souls into his gated lands.

This special man's new life begun, golden wings soar across the sun.

Now without him we sit and wait, to reunite at those ivory gates.

Bountiful beauty, we gather to reminisce.

Catch up on lost time, and things we've missed.

We'll tell of our hard times, and how we've grown.

Tell you how we're lost without you, how we've been alone.

But of these things you already knew of, although never by my side.

My silly boy you said" in being with the Lord, I've been with you all the time".

I wrote this about my father.
