Am I Enough For You Now?

by xoxShorteexox   Jan 29, 2007

Watching the clock,
staring at the hands moving,
hardly holding on,
& faking that usually smile.
With the words,
he said ringing in my head,
my list keeps growing,
the list of not being enough.
Just another wannabe,
another fake,
not enough,
to please the world.
He always said,
I'd be the best actress,
always pretending,
to be something I'm not.
The day drag on,
the words ringing louder,
as the clock ticks on,
hardly holding on.
I heard his words:
"You're not enough,
you're not pretty enough,
you don't smile enough,
you're not enough."
As I hold that knife over my heart,
write the last words,
anyone will ever hear from me,
writing:
"I'm enough,
I'm pretty enough,
I'm smiling,
I'm enough,
because I'm dead.
So Baby, am I enough for you now?"
