A Dreamy Silhouette

by ben thompson   Jan 31, 2007

Our moon swept patio lit in dusky night.
Your dreamy silhouette beautiful in dimming light.
Warm summer breeze cascades across my soul.
An ethereal image of mind, times crushing toll.

Moments shared on our stony porch.
Laughing and loving our sight by torch.
You filled my days, we were young and free.
Good times now memories, you've gone from me.

My hair has grayed, aches fill my bones.
Eyes blurred by tears, old age has shown.
On this warm eve my thoughts go to you.
I yearn for our passionate embrace for two.

How sudden and quick life can pass by.
It happens in just the blink of an eye.
Cherish special times, hold loved ones close.
Take life slow, always make the most.

Breaking tranquil silence I let out a sigh.
I see that the best has passed me by.
Alone in solitude to weather the storm.
By myself dark times I will morn.

Until we meet again my queen depart.
You hold the key to my eternal heart.
I'll wait always and forever to take your hand.
Begin our journey for two, in the promised land.
