In My Arms I Leave

by David Marshall   Feb 1, 2007

I place my cold hands upon her face.
Wiping away the wet tears across her cheek.
I had been thinking of her for days.
I wasn't strong; no I was weak.

Her eyes are soaking my shirt.
My breath becomes less and less.
My soul aches and I begin to hurt.
I'm bleeding on the floor; creating a mess.

My breath freezes in the air.
My mind ignores the rest of the world.
No this can't end now; no it's not fair.
I can't leave yet; I love this girl.

My thoughts flash back the memories.
I can see her smile; every single kiss.
I think of what I'm about to lose.
Don't let me die; I don't want this.

I rest my head on the stained floor.
I close my eyes; wearing all her charms.
I see the light; I walk through the door.
At least I died holding her in my arms.
