No servant for a servant

by Independence Forever   Feb 5, 2007

I have a new desk sitting in my room
i lugged it eight blocks, alone in the gloom

no one would help, all slow to act
i resolved to do it all, i made that pact

my muscles are straining, my will is at the breaking points
to the very end i worry about my wearied joints

eight blocks with no help, i work with veracity
i will not give up, because of my spirited tenacity

my desk is at home, a shower for me
i feel proud now, grateful at the powers at be

i will compose many insightful works to be
it is a pity no one will serve even me

i serve everyone, not even wishing reward
no one helps a servant unless they get their award

here's to the servant, carry the title proudly
for none will help you, no matter how you are loudly

i accomplished a great work today with this task
i have given up hoping for help, and i will no longer ask
