Saying Goodbye

by TalkItOutInTheRain   Feb 16, 2007

Do you not wonder,
Why I have changed?
Why our friendship withered?
With no attempt to be saved.

Do you not wonder,
Why I blamed you?
You did nothing wrong,
But what if you knew?

You say you did nothing,
But that is just my point,
Why shoot those glances?
If you are unwilling to take a chance.

And what about the way you spoke?
Your tone of voice so soft,
You gave me false hope,
When you saved that voice for me.

So now you know,
I gave you my heart,
Why would you hurt me?
By tearing it apart.

Our trust is shattered,
Broken on the floor.
Our friendship is gone,
That is it now, I am done.

So I am walking away,
From this veiled lie,
I don not want to stay,
So I am saying goodbye.

I really liked the first line of your first two stanzas.
'Do you not wonder,'. Something about it got me. It was very unique and I liked the way you repeated it in two stanzas. I liked your rhyming and as always there was a lot of emotion. An enjoyable read. Keep up the good work.
