Mending this heart

by TalkItOutInTheRain   Feb 16, 2007

Split into tiny pieces,
Jagged edges slicing at me.
How do I start,
Mending this heart.

Life goes on,
As do I.
Going through the motions,
Asking, why did you die?

Time passes by; it's already been a month,
The pieces of my heart become a little more blunt.
The memories begin to fuzz,
I don't want to let go, to forget,
But I do want to mend this heart.

I liked this piece, I can easily relate. I like the way you wrote it. You can feel what you are saying, understand the conflict, and it almost opens a window to your world. Very enjoyable. My only suggestion would be to change 'So do I' to 'As do I'. I'm not an expert or anything, I just think it would sound better that way.
Ps thanks for commenting on mine.
