Happy Valentines

by TalkItOutInTheRain   Feb 16, 2007

Walking down an average street,
I see happy couples as they meet.
I was supposed to be one of them,
But something went wrong.

Happy Valentines mum and dad,
You got a card? From who? How Fab!
My fake smile never falters,
Until I'm alone at night.

Have a wonderful time,
Don't worry, I'll be fine!
The door closes; the tears start to fall,
How is this fair at all?

Here's to all the lovers, so sweet,
To the women and girls, swept off their feet.
I wish you well, have fun, make love,
While my sweetheart watches me from above.

As usual you were able to incorporate a large amount of emotion into this. It actually sent a chill up my spine. I just wish you didn't have a reason to write about this topic.... Good write, keep them coming.
