Mirror mirror

by Espoirfailed   Feb 19, 2007

Sitting on the end of my bed
I stare head to head
At jealousy
And vulnerability.
And I get so sick of looking
That I punch the mirror.

And a thousand pieces
Of reflective evil,
Haunt me from the floor.
A thousand pieces
Of rejected upheaval
Mock me forever more.

So I only asked for
7 years bad luck,
But fate didn't
Give a fu(k
It gave me 15.

It's a long way to walk
When you can't even move.
And I'm all talk
Just what am I trying to prove?

And you thought you were catching me
But I saw who was falling.
But by the time you worked it out
It was way past forestalling.

I've got the scars to show,
And I'm not taking about razor blades,
It's so much worse than you all know
Life's just diamonds scratching hearts,
And aces buried by spades.

There's no certainty
Except for one,
But you told me that.
There's no certainty
Except you're gone
And I could have told you that.

It is WAY beyond me why there isn't more votes/comments on this one, I loved it. It's from before you started entering into my contests so I haven't read a lot of your earlier work but wow, this is really good!

    "Life's just diamonds scratching hearts,
    And aces buried by spades."

^^ Those two lines blew me away, they're amazing.
