Her Journal

by Zoe   Feb 22, 2007

She keeps her journal
Locked up tight
She takes her pen
And scribbles away the night

Writes everything down
In that journal of hers
What she is writing
No one knows for sure

Her pen glides across the paper
Not missing a beat
Not stopping to breathe
Or shuffle her feet

But whenever she writes
Tears fill her eyes
Spilling down on the paper
That reveals all her lies

When I watch her write
I see her hatred glow
As she writes and writes
About the boy she used to know

The one who hurt her
Fills every clean page
As she writes about him
She screams in rage

She's strong during the day
But when it's dark
She grabs her pen
And makes her mark

Marks each page
With words of hate
And for him to feel pain
She cannot wait

No one knows when
He will leave her mind
But when she writes
It's relief she will find

As the last page of her journal
Quickly comes near
She knows what she will write
Without a doubt or fear

As she reaches the last page
The sketchings are few
The space filled by three words
I'M OVER YOU
