Farewell, Youthful Identity.

by Sarah Ann   Feb 28, 2007

Childhood memories -
Escape me.
No turning water into wine,
No learning while you're in the line.
I have now reached the broken sign.
Farewell, youthful identity

The perilous mistakes
Forgotten involuntarily...
Farewell, youthful identity
Some dreams were meant to be, declined.
A new chapter will be written
Dipped in pen, and not forgiven

I am trembling in fear.
Must I walk out into this field...
Without His love,
Without a shield?
Responsibilities will burden me,
Farewell, old young identity.

Swathe me from this terrible sight
So high, it's only promising.
Disastrous, and broken
Unleash the words unspoken -
Tell not the truth; give me the lies...
I miss knowing nothing in life.

--Just a poem...about me turning 18 today...I feel as if life is downhill from here--

Oh hunni, the fun is just starting, you don't loose your youth for ages yet. The only think you are getting a change to get rid of is the awkwardness of teenageness (three cheers for making up words) so don't let any tears fall for that. Now you get to go for your goals and aim towards the dreams you want to achieve because you still have hope and the youthful ambitions to see it through. Still, it was a wonderful poem.

    Happy Birthday!
