Opening My Eyes

by Vic   Mar 1, 2007

I'm taking a closer look
As the bus drives it's course.
I'm reminiscing again;
I'm re-living it all.

Back to the days,
The laughs and smiles.
Everything that died
When I traveled those miles.

The sun seems to shine
For the first time in years.
I'm touched by the view
And I can't stop the tears.

The days when my brother
Never left my side.
The happiest days definitely,
Of my entire life.

I had my family
My family had me.
No turning back,
We moved forward fully.

Love in our hearts,
We made our own choices.
No longer just kids,
We had our own voices.

I moved to this place,
To pursue my future.
I left it all then,
I did my best to endure.

I kept up my life
For as long as I could.
I still can't imagine,
It's all gone for good.

The bus runs it's course,
I call for a stop.
I can't go back now,
I'm having second thoughts.

I get off that chance,
I watch it pass by.
The past is dead now,
I'll own this new life.
