Smiling

by Annabel   Mar 3, 2007

She always smiles,
It’s easier that way,
There's no questions asked,
Leaving none to be answered.

If she lets her guard down,
It only need be for one day,
Then people begin to bother her,
Inquiring looks,
Sympathizing glances.

They suddenly see the truth,
She says she's fine, so what can they do?
And so they stop believing in her,
Leading to despair in herself.

Late at night she cries herself to sleep,
Endless music as she leaves reality,
Dreaming of a perfect place,
Where life is beautiful,
And happiness everlasting.
