This is divorce.

"Life's a b**ch and then you marry one."
Those few harsh words cut deep.
I started screaming inside,
How could he say those things about her?
We all know he still loves her,
As she loves him.

He doesn't know how to cope.
And it's not our place to tell him.

I want to say that surely
They'd be happier together
Than the sadness
Everyone is suffering whilst they're apart.

I'm not allowed.
I tell myself it's not my business,
I must move on.
It's hard when comments
Are thrown from them,
Constantly, as jokes, or in all sincerity,
She spoke in French,
"I had a fiance and now, I'm sad."
She thought I wouldn't understand,
Of course, I did
And gave her a look of deep sympathy,
And replied,
"I'm sorry, I understand"

Wow! The last line left me speechless. The way youbuilt the story up... Amazing. Grea job. These situations are hard, and it's frusterating when you can't do anything about them. Just know that it's not your fault. Fantastic!!
