Cruel World

by Annabel   Mar 5, 2007

Cruel world,
Evil smiles,
Mocking laughter,
Menacing whispers
Peer through the darkness
And penetrate your mind.
Silence takes hold,
Confusion is the essence
With a dozen meanings to every phrase
Who knows the truth anymore?
Instabilities freeze the movement
As distrust takes pleasure
Inhabiting your placid heart.
The trickle of love,
Mixes with anger
And fear takes presence
Twisting love to an unmistakable hate.

Wow amazing poem. It has a similar theme to one of mine and that is why it spoke out to me so much, your words were simple but screamed truth to the readers. I definately think this was excellent and well deserving on some recognition. 5/5

this is the strongest part of this poem to me, it gets straight to the point and over all a well written poem
